Montreal based cloud-accounting firm, Xen Accounting, has launched its “Feel the Xen” contest geared specifically for startups and small businesses in the tech space. Partnering with cloud accounting software provider Xero out of New Zealand, Xen Accounting and Xero hope to bring awareness to cloud accounting products and services.
“Cloud accounting is brand new in Canada and the role of your accountant is starting to be redefined by technology. We view ourselves as technology advisors as much as we are tax planners and business consultants”, says Ryan Lazanis, founder of Xen Accounting.
The winner of the contest will receive 1 year of completely free professional cloud accounting services plus a subscription to Xero’s cloud accounting system, a value of over $5,000. The contest is open to just about any incorporated business in Canada, with exact contest details provided on Xen Accounting’s contest page.
Xen Accounting recently made headlines at the end of 2013 when they became the first professional accounting firm in North America to start accepting bitcoins as payment.
“We’re always looking for new ways to innovate, for new technology to use and we have our ear to the street. We want to break free from the traditional mold and to show you that we’re not your father’s accounting firm,” Ryan maintains.
Xero is also looking to shake up the way things have traditionally been done with your accounting system and is quickly becoming to be seen as the leader in cloud accounting software.
“The industry is changing rapidly,” says Johnny MacAvoy, global sales lead at Xero. “We’re seeing hordes of business owners migrating to the cloud. We want Canadians to know that your accounting doesn’t have to be the obligatory, grudge component of running a business. Xero is a beautiful tool that businesses and forward thinking firms like Xen Accounting can use to automate your accounting and spend more time on the things that matter most, like growing your business,” adds Johnny.
